Dry Shampoo is a well known industry trick thats gone public. This product is perfect for my Flatiron clients. This product is great for keeping you flatiron service look, feel and smell fresh and new between services. Pravana Fresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo is a fortified formula with powerful anti-bacterial ingredients to attack and eliminate odor-causing germs, while natural absorbents trap excess oils and restore and enhance hair. Pravana Dry Shampoo instantly revives hair from a limp overly oily state, to clean lightweight, and voluminous. Don’t be late for work with Pravana Fresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo.

I’ve used Curl Formers very successfully on my clients with straight to wavy textured hair but I was not sure how well they would work on curly and very curly hair. So who better to try them on than myself? I have natural (not relaxed) very curly hair (Type 4a/b). If I am not rocking a Afro-puff then I am wearing a Twistout. While in the shower, I washed (I don’t wash that often and opt for Co-washes, but I had some build up) and conditioned my hair, detangled and put my self made product (I call it Curly Luv) in my hair. Out of the shower I curled my hair with the Curl Formers and sat under the dryer. When My hair was dry I took out the Curl Formers and had an OMG Moment! I had and still have very smooth and bouncy spirals (Shirley Temples’)! My hair turned out great. Just to look at Curl Formers you would not think that they would work as good as they do. I’ve used Flex rods on my Relaxed hair for years, but stoped using them after my Big Cut (BC) to all natural. The Flex Rods on my natural hair did not get my curls as smoothy and frizz free as the Curl Formers . Now I have another No to Low Heat Styling option to offer my Curly Girls!

Pictures up soon!

I have a female client who is a very busy college student and athlete. The client’s natural hair texture is very very curly (4b/c). Also her hair is chemically straightened (relaxed). Currently my client’s hair is experiencing very bad breakage. I suspect that this is caused by a combo of: lack of moisture, no protein treatments, heat styling and the doo rag that the client wears. The hair is braking off faster than it is growing so her hair has the appearance of “Never Growing”.

In order to stop the breakage, and to realize length, I suggested a daily hair regimen, which started last night, with a relaxer touch up with deep conditioning followed immediately by a Keratin Reconstructing Treatment.

My client will be able to keep her hair moisturized & use little to know heat to obtain easy manageability and the straight hair that she desires. Weekly deep conditioning, using moisturizing & natural oil rich hair products, protein treatments every 6 to 8 weeks and no more doo rag, should result in optimal growth of very healthy hair.

I’ll post a before and after video soon.
